Step on board pure luxury with Leisure Tours NI and settle into an experience of Castles, Stones, Ropes and Thrones. At the moment of departure feel welcomed into the company of your truly unique guide and driver with an icy start before hearing about your first castle!
Approaching the rock of Fergus you will have settled into the extensive knowledge, myth and stories you can expect of our journey. Villages and towns ahead will introduce you to the people, features and facts that makes this part of Co Antrim an important part of Northern Ireland’s history and film industry. Driving into Larne, hear how a Nordic Prince, Engineer and Visionary then ignited industry that still operates today.
Aquatic life a possible treat, as you witness your first view of the infamous Antrim Coast Road. A reachable distance, hear ‘aboot’ a link to close neighbours and their influence, seems like just a stone’s throw away. Passing a haunting presence, meet your first Glen with a crafty resident, and village no stranger to the hand of the King!
Meaning Hill Bay, a brief stop to soak up local interest then travelling by the watchful stance of the Guardian of the Glen. Moulded by glacier ice, a spectacular example Glenariff, and witness daylight robbery at its best. With a different geological stone on view, the end of the road for a pioneering engineer.
Celtic legends encase the Glen of Corp, tribute is paid to Johann and caves ‘give birth’ to a fantastic Irish Sea view. Radically changing landscapes with views a plenty, reaching the town of no castle but where grace and elegance prominently reside. A connection with Rathlin highlights its turbulent journey and not just through the air waves.
A rocky, woolly island tempts crossings for a view, where the Irish Sea meets the Atlantic much to the peril of many a crew. Steeped in history of past and new, a fishing nook ahead and one that welcomed a sons return.
Taste buds are delighted with local produce before the short journey to Finns legacy. Leave room for myth and legend and carry on the journey by a breath-taking residence and dangerous room with a view! A surfer’s paradise ahead and links for a master swing, view the ‘port’ up ahead before an inland retreat. It may be the water but who knew history would say, this town will change its name someday. Be sure to drink it in! As our journey draws near an end, time to experience an avenue of stature, fit for a King!
A journey like no other to take you on a relaxing view and soak up the facts, myth and legends of Castles, Stones, Ropes & Thrones.
