Event description

The Capital Accelerate & Scale Tech Superstars Programme would like to invite London-based technology SMEs to join a Trade Mission to Australia, organised in partnership with Funding London and supported by the Department for International Trade (DIT) London Region.

Why Australia?

Australia has the 5th largest economy in the Asia-Pacific region and the 13th largest in the world. With a labour force amongst the most skilled in the world, Australia offers a safe, low-risk environment in which to do business. It is ranked in the top 10 among OECD member nations for its total expenditure on R&D (Austrade 2018). In terms of investments, the average deal size has more than doubled since 2013 for transactions at Series B (Preqin Global PE and VC report 2017). Australia’s proximity to Asia Pacific economies is also beneficial for those wishing to expand in the region, while the common language and culture to the UK eases barriers to business.

Why Participate?
This Trade Mission aims to create opportunities for both business and investment by providing participating companies access to investment and networking opportunities in the Australian market. The delegates will have the opportunity to meet with and pitch to Australian businesses and Venture Capital firms. The mission will take place in Sydney at the same time as Cebit, which attracts thousands of technology professionals from Government, enterprise, SMEs and start-ups. Delegates on this mission will get the opportunity to visit the show and take part in meeting brokerage activities.

Who should apply?
This mission would best suit scale-up stage SMEs in London in the tech sectors of big data analytics, AI and enterprise tech, which are looking for exporting and investment opportunities for their technology.
