Cataloguing Padiham: Open Workshop
Sat 27 February 2016, 14:30 – 16:30 GMT
‘Cataloguing Padiham’ is a project led by contemporary textile artist, Harriet Lawton, in response to the Gawthorpe Textiles Collection at Gawthorpe Hall.
During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to tell their unique stories of Padiham and create individual labels which capture their places and memories. These labels will be developed into simple hand-stitch pieces to be exhibited at Gawthorpe Hall, and also into a series of outdoor pieces which will form a label trail through Padiham, in Summer 2016.
Do you have some association with Padiham? Either living, working in or visiting our town? Then we’d love you, your friends and family of all ages to take part in our workshops. You don’t need to have any previous artistic or textiles experience, just a story to tell.
If you’d like to find out more about being part of the project please contact Jenny Waterson, Learning Curator at Gawthorpe Textiles Collection at
firstname.lastname@example.org or 01282 773963 (Weds/Thurs).
N.B This workshop is free but booking is advised.
