This course is aimed at Health Care Assistants (HCA’s)/ Support Workers working in adult social care, to improve safety and care for patients with indwelling urinary catheters

By the end of the session learners will be able to:

Label a diagram of a male and female urinary system
Identify conditions why a catheter may be inserted
List different types of catheter
Explain the importance of preventing infection
Practice safe catheter care
