Catterick Village Harvest Festival Celebrations and Lunch

Sunday 1st September 10.30am - 1pm

St Anne's Church, High Green, Catterick Village

10.30 Harvest Festival Celebration Service followed by

11.45 onwards Soup and Roll Lunch

Everyone welcome!

A range of home- made soups cooked by the C.H.I.P's group*, with bread rolls, washed down with lashings of fruit juice. Vegetarian options provided. Harvest Soup Lunch is free of charge although we encourage people to book places in advance to help with catering. Anyone who turns up on the day will be very welcome! Any donations of pudding (for 4) warmly welcomed.

HARVEST CHARITIES This year St Anne's Church will be supporting Storehouse, Richmond local Food bank and Work Aid (more details as to how you can help (below)

DECORATING THE CHURCH

Saturday 30th in the morning ( 10 – 11.30am) we will be decorating St Anne's ready for the Harvest Festival with flowers and fresh produce – you are welcome to come along and help out or simply drop round any donations of food or items.

In this year's Harvest Bible reading we will hear how God loves a cheerful giver and about how generosity is part of God's character.

Our Harvest Giving this year will be for three great causes which we hope you will join us in supporting.


STOREHOUSE, local Richmond Foodbank

DONATIONS of TINNED meat, fish, vegetables and fruit, tinned meals,pie in a tin, beans, pasta, packet pasta and sauce, packet noodles, jars of sandwich fillings or spreads, rice pudding, cereal, porridge, UHT milk, pasta sauce, rice, squash, tea, coffee, toilet roll and toiletries all greatly appreciated. These can be bought to St Anne's in aid of Storehouse, Richmond Foodbank as part of the Community Harvest Celebrations.


WORKAID Tools for Life

Workaid tackles poverty by supplying disadvantaged people with the tools they need to acquire practical skills and become self supporting. As a charity dedicated to helping people help themselves Workaid tackles poverty mainly in East Africa and the UK. They collect, refurbish and then supply tools and equipment to self help groups and vocational training projects. They help provide a valuable community service by refurbishing tools that would otherwise be thrown away. *SEWING MACHINES All makes, any age including vintage/antique machines. Manual, Treadles, Overlockers, Industrial *WOOL, *HABERDASHERY Everything for sewing eg: cotton fabric, leather, reels of thread, scissors, pins, needles, lace, ribbon, elastic, zip, buttons, BICYCLES new or nearly new *TOOLS etc. Carpentry tools, woodworking machinery – saws, lathes, routers, planers, etc. Plumbing tools, Motor mechanic tools, Masonry & Bricklaying tools ,Electricians tools & machines, Cobbler/leatherwork/upholstery tools , Blacksmith tools, Metalwork & Engineering workshop tools & machinery, Welding machines (MIG & arc) Green woodworking tools – adzes, draw knives, froes etc. * TYPEWRITERS Manual only, *MISCELLANEOUS Ironmongery – screws and nails, bolts, hinges, locks. Also solder & flux. Personal Protective Equipment in original packaging (gloves, masks, etc.)
