Description

What is electricity? How is it generated? How does it relate to a microwave, and what has this all got to do with Greek cats and leg hair? Watch our electricity show to find out.

We try to get down to the fundamentals of electricity, looking at:

  • Static electricity

  • Induction

  • The conservation of energy

  • Electromagnets

  • Transformers

  • How light bulbs work

  • Sparks

......and how this all relates to what you shouldn't put in a microwave.

Dave Ansell brings his demo-filled science show to the Cavendish science festival, which aims to inspire, educate and fascinate, and make the world seem understandable.

Organised by
