Event description

Description

What prevents diversity in the boardroom? How can you close gender and ethnicity pay gaps? Does inclusion really drive growth? Get answers to your burning diversity questions at the CBI’s D&I conference.

Why you should attend:

Despite the accepted business case for diversity and inclusion, too many boards remain ‘stale, male and pale’ and too many payrolls still show disparity in earnings. Open to all business leaders, the third annual CBI Diversity & Inclusion Conference will explore the diversity challenges facing your business and root out the reasons for the frustrating stagnation in progress.

By attending the conference, you’ll get answers to the difficult questions about D&I and understand how to make diversity a priority across your organisation. Be inspired by ideas on how to create a culture of belonging; hear how your peers have overcome barriers; and find out the tangible solutions to closing your pay gaps once and for all.

Featured sessions:

09:00 Progressing parity

There is a widespread understanding of the huge benefits that equality can bring - but the talk hasn’t been matched by action. It is now paramount that business accelerates the progress on parity. This session will tackle the difficult questions about D&I and will explore the catalysts needed to make D&I a priority across the board.

09:50 Creating a culture of belonging

Inclusive policies can only take us so far: the utopia for D&I is a workforce with a sense of belonging. So how do you instil this in your organisation? In this session, two pairs of interviewees will explore their ideas for creating a culture of belonging and will share the challenges that they have faced along the way.

10:30 Stirring up the stagnation of pay gap progress

Despite apparent action, there was only <1% improvement in the gender pay gap last year. Why is it so hard for businesses to close the gap? What more can be done to make real progress? What lessons can be learned from gender pay gap reporting for ethnicity and disability pay gap reporting? Find out the answers to these questions and how to apply the solutions in your firm.
