FEATURING

Alpesh Chauhan – Conductor
Benjamin Grosvenor – Piano

PROGRAMME

Dvořák Three Slavonic Dances, 12′
Brahms Piano Concerto No. 1, 47′
Sibelius Symphony No. 5, 31′

“ Benjamin Grosvenor may well be the most remarkable young pianist of our time” says The Times – and they’ve got a point! We’re thrilled to team him up with Birmingham’s rising star Alpesh Chauhan in Brahms’ torrential First Piano Concerto; and we think the results are going to be something truly special. The serenity and optimism of Sibelius’s mighty Fifth Symphony make it the perfect foil to Brahms’ tragic grandeur.

CBSO+ 1pm: Conductor Alpesh Chauhan introduces today's programme in conversation with CBSO Director of Concerts Zoe Poyser.

Timings: Leave Leominster 9:00am., Hereford at 9:30am., Ross on Wye at 10:15am. With time for lunch before the performance.

Depart at 4:30pm and travel back to Ross at 6:30pm, Hereford at 7pm and then Leominster at 7:20pm.
