Event description

Description

What's it all about?

Everyone has heard of CDM – but what really is it? Doesn’t it just mean you need to put your Hi Vis on?

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations cover the management of health, safety and welfare when carrying out construction projects.

Some of the work carried out in live production is considered to be within the scope of the regulations and there is a little more to it than just wearing Hi Vis.

Most people and suppliers involved in live production will have duties under CDM, but are you clear on how CDM relates to your role, and others you work with, or indeed contract?

Our industry often uses commissioning models that do not translate easily into CDM and it can be difficult to see how it can be complied with – but there are ways…

What are the aims?

This workshop aims to deliver an understanding of how CDM applies to different roles within live events by working through a range of typical production roles in terms of how CDM duties apply and can be discharged in each case.

Who would benefit?

A range of industry professionals such as:

clients, producers, organisers, promoters, designers, production companies, production managers, technical crew, venue managers, event managers, project managers, suppliers, hire companies, set companies and local crew companies.
