For our annual summerjam we focus on the music and invite you to join in.
We´ll be hanging around at Prince Charles in our bikinis, slurping cold drinks and listening to newcomers 4DI and CUETEC who have impressed us with their tunes at CDR in the past months before disco wizzard DANIEL WANG will tell us a few anecdotes about the evolution of DANCE in club music while playing one of his exquisite selections.
After we all had our freshly grilled goodies from the ADIDAS BBQ its time to move and we´ll have voguing expert Georgina aka Leo Melody and mother of the fabulous House of Melody show us how its done. Still sweating from her performance at the semi-finals of "Got To Dance", she and her companions Zoe Melody and La Borka Melody will shake their and your bodies. Come on and strike a pose!
Last but not least electronic music pioneer COSMIN TRG will make us dance into the night. With various releases on Rush Hour, Hemlock and Modeselektor´s 50 Weapons he is known for fusing shuffling drums with eerie synths, snatched vocals-as-instruments and strains of Detroit and Chicago classicism while innovating more than imitating.
As always we invite you to bring your music for the OPEN CDR session.
CDR Berlin:
Every music producer knows the score: one can tinker away at a track for all eternity but it lacks something vital, and one still doesn't quite know what. Is the sound right? Does the arrangement work? How will the tune work on the dance floor? What will my buddies think of it? When is the track really complete? These are the questions to be answered at CDR.
The aim of the event is not simply to give a straight lecture but to swap experiences, workshop style, in open discussion with all participants. A subsequent clubnight with previously submitted tracks will continue after the workshops. Upload your own tracks at www.cdrberlin.net and you'll get to hear them later over the Prince Charles sound system when CDR residents DJs Dirk Rumpff, John B. Savary and Tony Nwachukwu pull them together in a plausible DJ set. The respective artists' names will be displayed, if so wished, so as to facilitate immediate feedback.
