Wed 5 April 2017, 15:00 – 17:00 BST
CeASR Seminar- Cognition & Behaviour Programme
Never creation from nothing; Always re-creation from something else
Speaker: Professor Rob Pope, Emeritus Professor at Oxford Brookes University and a National Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy
The session opens with a brief sketch of the concept of ‘re. . .creation’ (where the emphasis is on various ways of filling the ‘…’); also knowable as ‘creative re-cycling’.
This leads into a workshop involving the transformation of a wide range of texts – verbal, visual and conceptual. And this in turn prompts further discussion of changes and exchanges of many kinds. The main thing that participants should have re…created by the close is their sense of themselves and one another’s respective knowledges.
Rob Pope is the author of Creativity: Theory, History, Practice and co-editor of Creativity in Language and Literature: the State of the Art. He is an Emeritus Professor at Oxford Brookes University and a National Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Refreshments available prior to the seminar.
