About this event

  • Event lasts 5 hours 45 minutes

The rail sector is currently seeing a pivotal shift in rail reform and changes in control periods with a number of challenges.

With the emergence of Great British Railways (GBR) a “single directing mind that will run our rail infrastructure and passenger services in the public interest” and the changes in delivery as a result of CP7, CECA are running a members Rail seminar.

On the day you will hear from

  • GBR about their purpose, work and strategy
  • Network Rail regarding newly established work pipelines and contractor engagement
  • NSAR and National Infrastructure Solutions who will discuss training and funding opportunities to aid Social Value commitments

As part of the event, we will also be covering NEC4 contracts in the Rail Sector.

NEC4 is the chosen suite of contracts for CP7 in the Rail sector. The afternoon session will provide an excellent insight into commercial issues that CECA members need to consider when using NEC4 contracts.

Issues covered will include

  • Tender review
  • Contract structure – including Option clauses and Contract Data
  • Dealing effectively with Early Warnings and Compensation Events
  • Subcontracting – issues arising
