About this event

Arts • Craft

Join us as we get crafty with some traditional South East Asian Crafts. In these adapted child friendly crafts we'll be sticking, folding, decorating and colouring to all produce something unique.

Learn how to make a set of Wayang Kulit inspired shadow puppets that will help you tell a story. Immerse yourself in a mystical journey with the Sharky and George team, who will create a storytelling experience with the puppets you have made and help them come to life!

Wayang Kulit is a traditional form of shadow puppetry that comes from the Indonesian islands. Dhalangs, or puppeteers, have been telling the legendary tales of kings, princesses, ogres, and knights for over a millennium. The puppets are traditionally made of buffalo hide, with cotton cloths and lamps to create shadows.

Sessions will be led by experts in fun, Sharky & George. Their team will be bringing the crafts to life with games, jokes and good times. Guaranteed to bring a smile to all.
