Harrow Mencap and the Queen Mary University Human Rights Collegium are teaming up to celebrate 30 years of children's rights.

About this Event

Harrow Mencap and the Human Rights Collegium (Queen Mary University) are celebrating 30 years of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

This parliamentary event will discuss the impact that the Convention has had on the rights of children and young people with a disability, and will explore what still needs to be done.

Speakers:

1. Professor Geraldine Van Bueren QC, Queen Mary University of London and Visiting Fellow Kellogg College Oxford and one of the drafters of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child

2. Children's Commissioner for England Anne Longfield

3. Harrow Mencap Deputy Chief Executive Alison Davies, who will be accompanied by one of our young ambassadors

4. Barnardo’s Assistant director for the London region Kathryn Uche accompanied by Ben Harper (Children’s Services Manager) and a young ambassador
