The panel will feature legendary photographer Gered Mankowitz, whose early photos of Marianne helped define her public image; the iconic singer P.P. Arnold, Marianne’s contemporary on the ‘60s pop scene who also worked with her discoverer Andrew Loog Oldham; and Robin Denselow, a music journalist, author and folk expert who knew Marianne pre-fame, participated in her emergence on the Reading folk scene, and witnessed her rise to fame first hand.
Moderating the discussion and exploring Marianne’s impact and legacy will be the reissue's creative producer and archivist Andrew Batt, who knew Marianne well. The discussion will both celebrate and dissect Marianne’s myth and music, providing insights on one of the brightest British stars of the Swinging Sixties and beyond.
A selection of Gered Mankowitz’s portraits of Marianne will be on display, and a selection of the Decca recordings will be available for purchase.
Tickets are £5; the price of your ticket is redeemable against any purchase made in the gallery.
