Mid-Autumn Festival (Zhongqiu Jie, 中秋节), also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is celebrated in Chinese culture. It is the second most important festival in China after Chinese New Year. During Mid-Autumn Festival, families reunite, celebratory dinners are had, mooncakes are eaten, the moon is worshipped and paper lanterns lit.

This year, Mid-Autumn Festival will take place on Monday 6 October and we would love you to join us in the Atrium between 12:00PM and 2:00PM to celebrate. Open to all students, staff and the local community, expect visual displays, traditional giveaways, and crafty workshops, such as lantern making, on the day. Traditional dress encouraged or feel free to wear the colour red!

This event is running as part of the university’s BeConnected Programme, designed to help you enjoy your time on campus, take a breather from studies/work, and meet new people. Sound up your street? Simply book your space below.

Event is subject to change and complimentary offerings available while stocks last, on a first come first served basis. This event forms part of our Be Connected programme, available on the University of Stirling website. Please contact events@stir.ac.uk for all associated queries.
