Event description
Celebrating American Black History Month and the 150th Anniversary of the 15th Amendment & 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment

About this Event

2020 is a landmark year for voting rights. In 1870, one hundred fifty years ago black men gained the right to vote. One hundred years ago the women's suffrage movement achieved that right for women. Let us come together to celebrate our American Black History in keeping with this year's theme "African Americans and the Vote". During this important general election year, let us commemorate the struggle for voting rights.

In honor of U.S. Black History Month, we are proud to host Reverend Professor Keith Magee, Th.D. as our guest speaker. He trained as an economist and theologian, is a public intellectual, social justice scholar, theologian, and political advisor. He is currently Professor of Practice in Social Justice, Newcastle University and Senior Fellow in Culture & Justice, University College London. He serves on several boards including the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.

Join us for an evening reception with drinks and hors d'oeuvres to network, catch-up, and celebrate.
