About this event
YOUR HOST
Angela Poole (me)
I am a mum of two teenage boys ( 16 and 20) living in Surrey, UK but originally from South Africa.
My 16 year old being diagnosed with ADHD and ASD at a young age has created many obstacles in my life and quite frankly it’s been a ROLLERCOASTER! However, I have learnt so much about myself and the many other challenges I have faced over the years which lead to me qualifying as a personal trainer and now a motivator and speaker.
I am passionate about uplifting and motivating people while always keeping it real and honest. I have grown in confidence so much over the years and my journey has taught me to take more chances and step out of my comfort zone.
THE PANEL
Elspeth Van Der Hole
After the death of her father and whilst studying at university, Elspeth struggled to get out bed and face the world for 6 months, but managed to get onto a Prince's Trust enterprise workshop to set upher first business in photography.
Elspeth eventually went on to set up an illustration business after she moved to London in 2016, during which time she was diagnosed with anxiety, depression,OCD, BCP and CPTSD. She ahs also been in and out of therapyfor the last 10 years, completely breaking down the understanding of her own emotions and relearning them.
Elspeth is now a personal trainer who develops programmes to help others reach a position of recovery as she has.
Sarah Parker
Sarah is a busy mum of 2 young boys and Project Manager working in Entertainment & Events.
When she’s not running for a train, juggling calls with the school run, or actually on a treadmill Sarah can be found running her entertaining blog on Instagram as @SarahInSurrey.
Sarah started her Instagram page in 2017 when she discovered she was pregnant with her second child and was made redundant. Her parenting & lifestyle blog was set up to connect and create community as well as support small and local businesses. It was through social media and her connections that gave Sarah the confidence to pivot careers and seek out the dream job she does today.
Fatima Truscott
Since 2000 and graduating in Media + Culture BA, Fatima has worked across various newspapers and magazines as a Fashion & Beauty Editor. From interviewing Katy Perry in Berlin to writing skincare advice for teens (I won an industry award for this *proud face) to styling swimwear shoots in Miami (no industry award, but a stonking tan!) I am truly thankful that this has been my working life for nearly the past two decades.
Nowadays, Fatima freelances to fit work around a very busy family life. She is married with two children, aged 17 and 10 and works mainly now with brands direct, consulting, styling and writing. She also edits a local magazine in Epsom & Ewell where I'm from and continue to contribute to print and online editorial.
