Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

With hundreds flocking to The Centre last year for their big one day summer event, this year will mark a big leap forward. Now, for the whole week-end of August 12th and 13th, the huge open space at The Centre and its gardens, just off Barnet High Street, will be hosting a community event featuring live talks from international speakers, live music, an exhibition of original art, glasswork, jewellery, paintings, photography, woodwork and a children’s zone and delicious organic café.

David Gomme, a senior coach in Holland who works with Ministries and multi-national corporations is giving a talk on the most common health hazard – stress: Many other prominent speakers from London and around the world will also be giving talks, such as Dr. Macarena Mata who will be speaking about “Dealing with yourself in conflict.”

All the exhibitors have been selected on the basis of the originality of their work. Jackie Henshall for example is a leading light in glassworks art, with her bowls and jewellery, whilst others like Lise from Denmark will exhibit her inspiring and magical greeting cards. There are also acclaimed writers exhibiting their work such as Mark Siegel from New York who has won various prestigious awards for his graphic novels.

For well over a decade, The Centre has held a great variety of live concerts, talks and events for the community. Of the various groups who meet there, there is a well-established healing group who have built an original healing garden which will be available for the summer event.

The Centre is owned by an educational charity and profits will be donated to the Y-Top, a special international youth movement who have given concerts at The Centre. Due to the popularity of this event, activities will be going on not only at The Centre this year but also Hadley Green. Entrance is free. All exhibits will be for sale.
