Description

Find out why we are so excited about cell and gene therapy!

Cell & Gene Therapy: 21st Century Medicines, a collaboration between Keele University, Cobra Biologics and the Cell & Gene Therapy Catapult, promises to be an eye-opening and interesting evening.

  • Cell & gene therapy is central to a range of new drugs in which modified cells are able to treat and potentially cure currently untreatable diseases and disorders
  • Many diseases are due to problems in the genes (DNA) within cells, or because cells stop working properly
  • By modifying or replacing the problem cell population, exciting new treatments are being discovered

On 6th December, we'd like to introduce you to this fascinating arena of medicine and discuss:

  • The transformative impact of these treatments
  • Manufacturing challenges
  • Career opportunities created by these developments
  • And hear from a surgeon who has used cell & gene therapy to successfully treat over 600 patients!

The event is aimed at GCSE and A-level students interested in a career in science however absolutely everyone is welcome!

Attendance is FREE, including refreshments, but registration is required please.
