About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours
  • Ages 18+

Learn the art of drawing and creating Celtic knots.

In this workshop I’ll take you through the methods of how a Celtic knot is created. We’ll start off by learning the method of creating simple knots. Once you have mastered the technique, we’ll move on to creating break lines in your Celtic knots, to create different patterns.

There will be plenty of hints and tips on making your Celtic knotwork your own along the way. By the end of the class, you’ll be confident in being able to create your own simple Celtic knots.

Whilst this workshop is suitable for beginners, it is very helpful to have an interest in Celtic knotwork to understand the principles behind the construction.

All tools and materials are provided for the workshop, just bring yourself! Of course, hot drinks and light refreshments will be provided too.

Workshops will take place at my home workshop just outside Stanley, County Durham. It is a small workshop, so workshop classes are also small, which means you will receive plenty of individual attention.

Please note that my home workshop is accessed by stairs.

I’m Carrie, and I’m an art and crafts teacher based just outside Stanley, north east England.

I have been teaching art and crafts since the early 2000s, and have been teaching these with wellbeing in mind since 2014, working with a local social prescribing service.

I particularly enjoy teaching absolute beginners, so rest assured, whatever your art and craft experience, I will guide you through the process and make it as enjoyable as I can for you!
