Event description

Description

Centre for Ageing and Dementia Research:Raising Awareness-Raising Standards

At this year’s CADR conference we want to showcase some of our best research that is leading to changing the lives of older people in Wales, the UK and beyond. We will show how, through our research work, we raise awareness of the issues associated with ageing, especially relating to the need to reduce ageism and we will show how our research raises standards in the care given to older people and the environments within which they live. We will introduce our groundbreaking research in Alzheimer’s disease genetics, show how research is changing the environment in which people age, including: homes, neighbourhoods and look at how research helps to improve dementia care.  There will be an opportunity to meet the researchers behind this exciting research and ample chance to network with likeminded people. There will also be a number of poster displays and exhibition stands from relevant collaborators.

CADR wishes to acknowledge and support the International Day of Older People (October 1st)  The 2016 theme is taking a stand against ageism.
