Sunday 21st December
Workshop time:11-12.30pm
Place: Camden Arts Projects, 176 Prince of Wales Rd, London NW5 3QB
About the workshop:
Over an hour and a half, immerse yourself in the centuries-old art of traditional marbling using natural, plastic-free materials. In this hands-on festive workshop, you’ll explore the craft’s rich history while creating three of your your own beautifully hand-marbled ceramic baubles to take home and treasure. Discover a variety of patterns with your chosen colours to design truly unique, personalised ornaments. The baubles are large in size and made to last, giving you magical keepsakes to enjoy and share for many Christmases to come.
About marbling:
Dating back to the 1200s in Asia and popularised in 1600s Turkey, marbling is now considered an 'endangered' craft, with just a small handful of people practising it professionally in the UK. We will be using the traditional method in this workshop.
About the artist:
The workshop will be taught by Grace Frogley, an emerging artist living in London, with a particular interest in heritage crafts. Grace has recently exhibited at RBSA (2025) and ST.ART Gallery (2025) and Bonnington Cafe (2025) and hosts marbling workshops across London and Kent.
About the venue:
Camden Arts Projects is a contemporary arts venue housed in a former Methodist church in Camden, showcasing work by both emerging and established artists. Currently, Camden Arts Projects is presenting Ryan Gander: I’ve Fallen Foul of My Desire (on view 15 October 2025–18 January 2026)
