Description

Tuesday 5th & 12th September 7pm-9pm

In this course spread over two Tuesday evenings, you will carefully craft your own timeless and stylish stoneware ceramic fruit bowl. Led by local ceramicist Yanire Syla Delgado, in the first class you will explore working with clay, using a mould to shape your bowl, hand building it delicately. Yanire will take each piece to have its first biscuit firing in her studio and returned for glazing and decorate in the second week.

Each bowl will be around 22cm diameter, the perfect size and shape to adorn your table as a decorative and functional fruit bowl, unique serving bowl or impressive salad bowl. This workshop will be a slow and mindful session, enjoying the tactility of working with clay.

When your bowl is finished after it's final glazing it can be collected at 56. The ticket price includes clay, tools, two kiln firings, glazes and expert artist tuition.

Light refreshments will be provided.

The class is hosted by head & hands and led by local ceramic artist Yanire Sylva Delgado. born in Ecuador, now living and working in Walthamstow, she has a studio at Blackhorse Workshop. her pieces 'strive to express the beauty that comes from imperfect symmetry in the natural world".
