Ceramics: making vessels - intermediate
Sat 19 November 2016, 11:00 – 16:00 GMT
This all day workshop will be run jointly by Fiona and Chris. Suitable for those with a little prior experience who want to develop their knowledge further, it will focus on the vessel- both handbuilt and wheel thrown. Fiona will focus on making pots by hand using the traditional method of coilbuilding. A relaxing and enjoyable way of making individual one off forms, you will also be able to decorate the surface using coloured slips. Fiona has many years of experience making handbuilt pots. She will help you make something unique to you, and refine your skills in making forms with greater control, more complex or specific shapes for example. Chris will be concentrating on the wheel, demonstrating particular throwing skills and enabling you to learn at your own pace. You could focus on making larger forms, more specific shapes, or repeating forms...
Your work will be fired and glazed ready to collect a few weeks later. You'll receive an email to notify you when the pieces are ready, and then you will have up to a month to collect your work.
£75 per person, inclusive of materials, preparation and firings.
