Ceramics: wheel throwing and handbuilding
Sun 16 October 2016, 11:00 – 16:00 BST
This all day class covers two different and contrasting processes of making ceramic vessels; wheel throwing and coil building. As an introduction to making pots on the wheel, we will cover the basics of centering the clay and making a range of small pots. You will also learn to make unique pots by the traditional method of coil building. These can be decorated using coloured slips and various tools/objects to create textures, colours and pattern. Suitable for complete beginners. Small class sizes ensure lots of individual support. We'll take a short break for lunch.
Your work will be fired and glazed ready to collect a few weeks later; you'll be notifed by email and then will have approximately up to a month to collect your pieces.
£70 per person, inclusive of materials, preparation and firings.
