Description
GDPR - Certified Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) in Schools
From May 2018 as part of the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as a school, you will need a data protection officer (DPO).
Due to the mass shortage of DPO’s the costs of recruiting one are sky high.
Training a member of staff is also expensive with the courses 3-5 days in length and several thousands of pounds along with the missing valuable time out of school. The criteria are also complex.
On a practical level you need a contact in the school who can manage the schools day to day data protection tasks, only needed to refer to a dedicated Data Protection Officer should there be a need to refer for things such as a data breach.
This 1 day course is designed to give any member of staff all they need to be the designate Chief Privacy Officer.
Working on a 95% to 5% rule, meaning the CPO will perform 95% of the work in partnership with an outsourced named DPO or DPO as a service (DPOaas)
At the end of the course they sit a brief exam and become certified.
