Within the NHS Cervical Screening Programme there is an expectation that cervical sample takers should undertake a minimum of one half day update every three years in order to maintain theoretical competence. Training requirements for medical and nursing professionals are equivalent.
Who Should Attend? Any registered nursewho is currently actively involved in the Cervical Screening Programme.
Aim: To ensure that on completion, the Health Care Professional maintains their competence in taking cervical samples for the purpose of the NHS Cervical Screening Programme
- Current developments in the cervical screening programme both nationally and locally
- Recent literature relevant to sample taking, sampling devices and women's needs
- Changes to local screening policies and procedures
