Opening night will take place at Chelmsford’s newest and most luxurious cinema, Everyman. There will be a Q&A with industry professionals followed by a screening of the world’s first interactive film. Doors open at 7pm where guests will have the opportunity to mingle and load up on refreshments at the bar at Everyman. The Q&A will start at 7.30pm and will include:
Presentation and Q&A - Chris Cook, Framestore
A presentation by one of the VFX lead modellers at Framestore, including a breakdown of the VFX work from Gravity, Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy, plus highlights from Chris’ work on Beauty and the Beast. Chris will explain how they achieved the amazing shots in these films and answer questions from the audience.
Presentation about Solis by director Carl Strathie and producer Charlotte Kirby
Due for release late 2017, local filmmakers Carl Strathie and Charlotte Kirby will discuss how they accomplished their debut sci-fi feature film, Solis. They will talk about the challenges of making high concept films on a low budget, as well as the current hot topic of women in film.

Following a quick break for refreshments in Everyman’s stylish bar area, Chelmsford Film Festival presents a screening like no other - the world’s first interactive film, The Late Shift.

The Late Shift was created by Swiss start-up CtrlMovie and written by Sherlock Holmes scribe, Michael R Johnson. The audience’s majority vote will have a knock-on effect as the non-linear story is formed, leading to one of seven outcomes. http://lateshift-movie.com/
