Event Information
Description
Create Gloucestershire Pop Up: Opportunities & Challenges of Digital Technology
Create Gloucestershire will be popping up for our next networking event in January. We'll be meeting on the Sabrina 5 - a beautifully renovated barge docked outside the National Waterways Museum in Gloucester Docks. The Pop Up is an opportunity to meet the CG team and other creative people in our network who are living and working in Glos. Our focus this time is on digital technology and how this affects our work and practice.
Coffee will be available from 9.45 and there will be plenty of time for meeting and sharing with others at the event. There will also be Q & A opportunities for each of the speakers and a chance to reflect on how what you have heard can impact on your own practice or organisation.
We are pleased to announce our two speakers Barney and Sarah - they are both using digital technologies in their work and will be sharing their experience with us.
Session 1: How digital technology powers up my practice
Barney Heywood – Stand + Stare (www.standandstare.com)
Barney will be sharing some of the work created by Stand + Stare, a small interactive design studio based in Stroud. Their work combines digital technologies with tangible things to communicate, connect and create meaningful interactive experiences.
Find out more about using digital technologies and get hands on with some of the technologies Stand + Stare are using.
Session 2: Do I really have to be on social media???
Sarah Dixon – Spider Creative (https://creativedigitalhuman.com)
Sarah will prompt an exploration of some current questions around social media (do we really need to use it for business? how do we keep our private and professional life separate? how is this affecting our mental health? And how safe is our data?) before leading us through some guiding principles and practical tips which will help to focus your efforts on the right platforms for you and your work.
Sarah is a creative practitioner working in digital design, strategy and project management.
