CGL training - Working with Drug & Alcohol Use

Dear valued partner,
CGL are pleased to invite you to a training event on Tuesday 16th December 2025, from 09:30 to 16:30 at Wesleyan Methodist Church, Cambridge.
The idea behind this? To Improve Our Responses When Working with Problematic Drug and Alcohol Use covering
The course includes:
Morning session - The essentials of drugs and alcohol:
• Gain knowledge of the drugs categories used by experts to better understand the way substances affect people
• Gain more detailed information about the common substances in use locally
• Get your questions answered about the risks, uses and effects of substances
Afternoon session - Working with Problematic Drug and Alcohol Use:
• Better understand your limits and responsibilities
• Keeping yourself as a worker – and your organisation – safe by staying on the right side of the law
• Engage more effectively with problematic drug and alcohol use
The What, Where, When and How of CGL Input:
• Understand more about your local drug and alcohol treatment service and how to refer to CGL
We hope at the end of the training you will come away with more insight about how to better support people that may use substances to cope and how they can access support.
