Chafer Wood Fungi Foray (Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Member's Exclusive Event)

Take a walk on the wilder side with fungi expert Rhona Sutherland at this woodland nature reserve on the outskirts of Ebberston with views across the Vale of Pickering.

Due to the nature of this event, we kindly ask that no dogs are in attendance (except assistance dogs).

Embrace your wild side - what to expect:

This will be a 3.5km walk over steep, uneven and unsurfaced paths around the reserve.

Meet at the southern main entrance of the reserve.

What to bring/wear

We'd recommend sturdy and waterproof footwear or wellies, and lots of layers! It could still be midge and mosquito season so we highly recommend wearing insect repellent.

Toilets and catering

There are no toilet or catering facilities on this site. Scarborough is 11.5 miles away and there are cafes and pubs along the route.

Parking

Limited roadside parking at southern main entrance and northern end of reserve. Please car share where possible.

Additional information

You may wish to bring a picnic and a flask of hot drinks but please take your litter home with you.
