Led by: Julie Hutchison of Trusteeship Matters and co-founder of #trusteehour 

 

This breakfast session will look at the importance of succession planning, a transparent trustee recruitment process, and a good induction programme. Join us for coffee and croissants as we discuss terms of office, board skills audits and how to write trustee role descriptions.

Julie Hutchison, an experienced charity board specialist with 20 years experience in specialist roles across law, financial planning, investments and tax to support charity boards with governance and policy issues, in particular ethical investment policy issues.This practical workshop sets out to explore trustee recruitment and help to identify good working practices that you can implement in your organisation.

 


 

About the facilitator:

Julie Hutchison is the Founding Editor of The Informed Trustee, an innovative online charity trustee training course, launched with STEP and endorsed by Edinburgh Napier University.  Julie also co-hosts a monthly twitter #trusteehour which has had over 100,000 views since launching in November 2017, supporting an online community of practice for charity trustees across the UK. After graduating with a law degree, Julie specialised in tax and private client work, including philanthropy and the creation and management of charities. She is a member of the Finance Committee of the Lake District Calvert Trust and sits on the Council of the WS Society.  Julie is also a part-time apprentice with OSCR, the Scottish Charity Regulator, and has been instrumental in the creation of the new investment guidance for charity trustees in Scotland.
