Chalk, Charcoals, and Sanguine - one day workshop
Fri 7 April 2017, 10:20 – 15:20 BST
Tutor: Scott Gleed
Dates/Times: Friday 7th April, 10.30-3.30 (with an hour break for lunch)
£45 inc all materials
This one day workshop is great to re start or just start your journey in art, free and uninhibited.
This is a great medium to get you back into art or indeed to start from scratch. It is a free flowing and creative medium and allows fast progress. An old if not the original mediums as used by the cave painters, all the elements originally come from the earth.
The sanguine lifts the other 2 parts and gives a great sense of depth and movement.
During the Day:
The day starts with an introduction into the main elements we will be covering. We then discuss the use of the basic forms and how to use them in every day art and sculpture. We then have a go at drawing the forms from props I have arranged. Using chalk, charcoal and sanguine we discover how they develop. We will have a quick look at perspective drawing and how this can transform any artwork or understanding of depth and 3d effects. We then go through a simple 2 point exercise. We then talk about composition and how to use it. After lunch we will then move outdoors (weather permitting) to put these elements to use in a drawing exercise.
There will be a one hour break for lunch, please bring a packed lunch or you may of course go to any one of the cafe's on the Park or within Findhorn village.
There will be many chances to ask questions, so please do.
