Samar Hammam founded Rocking Chair Books Literary Agency in 2013. She focuses on representing adult commercial fiction, literary fiction, graphic novels, and general non-fiction although she also represents authors of short fiction collections and poetry, which most agents steer clear of.
Before she founded Rocking Chair, she was a New York-based literary scout and then a Director at Toby Eady Associates, so she brings a broad range of experience to both her agency and our event.
In addition to the usual talk and general Q&A, Samar has agreed to comment on some verbal pitches. If you’d like to give one, please aim to speak for around 2 minutes with an absolute maximum of 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
The cover charge for this event will go toward the Chalk Scribblers overheads and not to either the event hosts or the speaker. For that reason, we can only offer a refund if the event is cancelled.
