Why do I need to sign up.

By signing up, you help us to know how much kit to bring - litter pickers, gloves etc.

Question 2

What do you do with the rubbish collected?

Accepted Answer

We sort the rubbish at the end into 'real' rubbish that will be collected by the local council, and recycling. We take the recycling separately so that it doesn't end up in landfill or the Energy Reclamation Facility.

Question 3

Where is the meeting point and where can I park?

Accepted Answer

We don't have special arrangements with the council car parks about getting free parking. So you will have to pay for parking or find an area close by that has free parking.  Meeting point is in the long stay car park behind Tesco's. There is parking in the long stay car park behind Tesco's.

Question 4

Is the clean up accessible for those with impairments?

Accepted Answer

Due to the nature of the getting in the river and the type of rubbish this clean is unfortunately not accessible for those with impairments.  If English is not your first language then we can accommodate this.  For accessible beach cleans please see our website.

Question 5

Is the clean up just for families?

Accepted Answer

Yes families can attend as long as children are 16 or over and accompany their children. Some people come as a couple, some as individuals, students and families with children.  If you have any specific question then please let us know.

Can I book more than 1 ticket?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  Please press the + arrow to book more than 1 ticket.  If you require more than 10 tickets then please contact us directly.  The clean up is designed for individuals and NOT for businesses.  If you would like to arrange a business clean up then please contact us directly.

Question 7

Why are there limited numbers for this clean up?

Accepted Answer

Due to the nature of the site and the type of rubbish that we will be picking up, we will need to supervise volunteers more closely.  Therefore we have decided to limit the numbers of volunteers.

Why do I need to fill in a google form?

Accepted Answer

If you do have any medical issues that may affect you taking part in the clean up in the water, there may be other opportunities for shore-based activities and support, so please fill out the form anyway and we will be in touch. We are keen to make our events as accessible to all as possible!
