About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

This webinar, " Challenges in Convective Drying of Powdered Materials ", focuses on a vital yet often misunderstood step in many industrial processes. It explores the interaction between powder behaviour and heated air, which is essential for addressing energy efficiency and product quality concerns. Designed for decision-makers, process engineers, and equipment operators in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical, and mineral industries, this session offers practical insights for those interested in innovative drying techniques

Presenter Dr Hamed Johnny Sarnavi is a research and consultant engineer at the Wolfson Centre-University of Greenwich; specialising on the flowability and drying of wet bulk solids.

Organized by

The Wolfson Centre is led by Director, Professor Mike Bradley; Professor in Particle and Bulk Technology, whose interests lie in pneumatic conveying, design of hoppers and silos, dust control, plant integration and maintenance of product quality. He is Chair of Solids Handling and Processing Association (SHAPA), and a member of Materials Handling Engineers Association (MHEA) and of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers Bulk Materials Handling Committee (IMechE).

His team consists of consultant engineers and research fellows, all of whom have their own fields of expertise which they bring to Industry in many forms, including through this series of webinars.

Dr Tong Deng, whose interests lie in Electrostatic behaviours, wear and impact effect on materials

Dr Baldeep Kaur, whose interests lie in characterisation and transportation of bulk materials;

Dr Vivek Garg, whose interests lie in powder flowability;

Dr Atul Sharma, whose interests lie in pneumatic conveying systems.

Dr Hamed Johnny Sarnavi, whose interest lie in classification and drying techniques.

Also contributing to these webinars are current PhD students, whose research contributes to the advancement of technology within bulk materials handling.
