Dr David Milford will explain the challenges of managing paediatric patients that have received a kidney transplant
About this event
Join us for a symposium exploring the challenges of managing the post-renal transplant paediatric recipient with Dr David Milford, who has been a Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist at Birmingham Children's Hospital and is the Medical Director of TLC.
Dr Milford will describe the management of the paediatric renal transplant recipient in the immediate post-operative phase. He will cover the management of immunosuppression in the paediatric recipient, balancing the needs of the kidney with the avoidance of infection and side effects. Finally, Dr Milford will explain common challenges in the first few weeks following transplantation and how to manage them.
The symposium will be chaired by Dr Jennie Jewitt-Harris, Chief Executive Officer of TLC, who will also field questions to Dr Milford, and host a discussion on the topics covered.
The zoom link will be sent to you on the day of the symposium. During the symposium there will opportunities to ask questions of the speakers. You can either submit your question in advance by replying to this email, or during the symposium.
