Event description

Description

This is an opportunity to hear about recent research on the development of services for child sexual exploitation (CSE) and to develop or enhance your own services in response:

  • An introduction from the Office of the Children’s Commissioner (OCC) will set the context for the need for practice development in the area of CSE and why they developed the ‘See Me Hear Me’ (SMHM) Framework.

  • Researchers from the University of Sussex will report on the findings of a recent research project to interpret and implement the SMHM Framework in 3 local authorities in England.

  • Representatives from each of the 3 local authorities that took part in the pilot study (Oxfordshire, Brighton and Hove and Sandwell) will reflect on the learning from the pilot in relation to developing their own practices.

  • The afternoon will comprise workshops to share expertise and discuss how delegates can change practice in their own areas.
