What does behaviour tell us and what are children trying to tell us through their actions?
About this event
In parenting and working with children we all find ourselves in situations where we don’t know what to do. Struggling to know how to help our child, keep them safe or achieve a task that needs to be done.
Be it a toddler screaming “no!”, a teenager ignoring us or refusing, or a child clinging on to our hand when we need to leave; we all have situations that challenge us as adults.
Throughout this Opportunity Area funded webinar we will endeavour to cover the following aspects:
- Exploration of the aforementioned situations from both the perspective of the child and the adult.
- Beginning to understand child behaviour as a form of communication – what is the challenging behaviour telling us, why is it happening when it does. What does the child need at that time?
- Look at why different behaviours challenge, what is our role in these situations and how can we best respond to the child in a way that balances the different demands we are facing

To be able to respond to your needs please state any questions you have on the booking page. If we can't answer them during the session we will endeavour to respond to you separately wherever possible.
