Challenging Domestic Violence: Good Practice Guidelines for Working with Male Perpetrators of Domestic Violence
Price: Free for practitioners / workers in Nottingham City only.
Prerequisites: Delegates must have completed Equation’s Understanding & Responding to Domestic Violence and Abuse course to attend
This one-day course, developed and delivered by Equation, assists participants to gain a greater understanding about why abusive men perpetrate domestic violence by assessing the various theories for its causes. The session identifies the links between abusive men’s beliefs and their behaviour, and helps participants to recognise when domestic violence is occurring. It also examines the risks attached to confidentiality and collusion, explores appropriate ways to respond to men who use domestic violence against women, and assists participants to review their policies and practices and develop closer inter-agency links.
Free places are kindly funded by Nottingham Crime and Drugs Partnership.
