Marral Shamshiri-Fard (LSE): Informal Empire in the Persian Gulf: Anti-Imperialist Revolutionaries in the 1970s

Marral Shamshiri-Fard is a doctoral candidate in International History at LSE with a project entitled, 'Resisting Marxism and Imperialism in the Persian Gulf: Political Alliances and Revolutionary Transnationalism, 1965 – 1979'. She holds an MPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from St Antony’s College, University of Oxford, and a BSc in Politics and International Relations from the University of Bath.

Joe Shaughnessy (University of Cambridge): Anticolonial Thought in Interwar Aotearoa New Zealand: India and Ethiopia

Joe Shaughnessy is a doctoral candidate in English Literature (Criticism & Culture) at Jesus College, University of Cambridge with a project entitled, ‘This Dark Will Lighten: Internationalism After Empire and Networks of Anglophone Literature, 1900-1950’. He received his MA in World History from Queens' College, University of Cambridge and an MA in Modern and Contemporary Literature, Culture and Theory from the University of Sussex. He earned his BA in English with Creative Writing from the University of Northampton.

Peter Morgan (UCL): Bolívarian Moments: Anti-Imperialism in the Shadow of Empire

Peter Morgan is a doctoral candidate at UCL focusing on Latin America, specifically the history of political thought on and aginst empire. He received an MA from UCL in the History of Political Thought and an MA from Queen Mary University of London in Intellectual History. He holds a BA in History from Wadham College, University of Oxford.
