The 'playful' breakfast
Do you sometimes find work uninspiring, predictable and dull? Do you look forward to going home and spending some time playing games on your tablet or console?
There’s no reason at all why the things that make games fun – scoring points, getting instant feedback and earning rewards, for example – can’t apply to business, to motivate staff and customers. There’s even a name for it: gamification. Put simply, it’s a process where companies use game techniques to improve their business.
Our March speaker is Pete Jenkins, who advises and trains companies in gamification. And he knows what he’s talking about – he was number one in last year’s Gamification Gurus Power 100. Widely regarded as a world expert, he’s got his own company, Gamification+, and is entrepreneur in residence at the University of Brighton.
Pete, a shy youth with low self-esteem who now thinks nothing of speaking at international conferences, will talk about his personal and business journey. Gamification has transformed his life and career – could this be the start of it transforming yours too?
