Find out more about Miles Lavelle-Golding

Miles Lavelle Golding, aged 17, is an up and coming young composer, who began composing for public performance age 11 and gained national recognition in 2015 BBC Young Composer for his work Urban. He was then commissioned to compose and perform a solo piano work for the110th Anniversary of the iconic Victoria Baths in Manchester and has been conducting his own pieces for Cheshire Youth Big Band. As a pianist with the National Youth Jazz Collective and a bass with the Halle Youth choir, for whom he has also composed a short choral work, Miles’ musical influences and passions are varied, from hip hop artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone, to Mark Linkous and PJ Harvey, and to Shostakovich and Charles Mingus, which contribute to the breadth of his composition style.
