Aim: This one day programme aims to introduce leaders to principles of managing change including impact on people and organisational culture. This course is aimed at HR/OD professionals who have some experience of change management

Objectives:

  • To assess opportunities for innovation and change within a department / organisation using SWOT or PESTLE and develop options for service improvements

  • To develop an understanding of the impact of change on staff and organisational culture and how to manage this effectively as a leader

  • To be able to use different tools and techniques to manage and implement change within an organisation

  • To analyse and manage risk associated with change

Topics:

  • Identification of service improvements resulting from PESTLE and SWOT analyses
  • Different leadership styles used in planning and managing change
  • Impact on people and different cycles staff experience in going through change
  • Organisational culture and impact of change
  • Barriers to change
  • Change models – John Kotter,
  • Communication in change
  • Tools for planning and managing change including Stakeholder analysis, Gantt charts, Critical path analysis, readiness to change matrix and communication matrix
  • Risk analysis and management
  • Reviewing change

Target audience: HR/OD professionals who have some experience of change management

Desiree Cox a professional and management development consultant with eighteen years’ experience of developing people. She established her own company, Praeceptor Consulting, in 2002 to provide leadership and professional development training including programmes accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). She works with a variety of organisations in different sectors including IBM, Oracle, NHS, MIND and BMI Healthcare

In addition to a first class degree in French and German, a degree in Psychology and Management and her Certificate in Education, she holds Diplomas in NLP, Performance Coaching, Writing, Life Coaching, Teaching IT and Management.

Desiree particularly enjoys working with teams to maximise their effectiveness and achieve results. This includes using Belbin and psychometric profiling with individuals, coaching them on both a one-to-one and a team basis to help them understand their personal skills and work with them on their improvement areas.

Publications include a variety of articles, book reviews and books. Her most recent book, “The Hungry Manager”, was published in 2013

The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital campus is at 369 Fulham Road London SW10 9NH. Easiest by taxi or 10‐15 minutes walk or bus ride from either S. Kensington or Earl's Court tube. Enter hospital, go to Lift C, take the lift to the lower ground floor, turn right as you ome out of the lift, go straight across the corridor and through the double doors nd tak end. c a e the first left, follow the corridor to the Gleeson Lecture Theatre at the Directions to Wyman Seminar Room at Chelsea & Westminster campus
