Description

In our 21st century global society, sport is a powerful engine for driving social change, and nobody understands the unique power of sport better than former athlete, Michelle Moore.

Michelle is an award-winning consultant, educator, and strategist and widely recognised as one of the most influential women in sport. With over a decade of experience leading initiatives, she is a powerful advocate for education and is an expert in sport for social change, diversity and inclusion, and corporate social responsibility.

She played a key role in the London 2012 Olympic Games, developing strategy and creating engagement opportunities for thousands of young people and staff in London schools. Michelle is featured in The Independent '50 Most Influential Women in Sport 2015', won an esteemed Changemaker award in 2015, is the winner of the 2016 UK Precious Award for 'Outstanding Woman in Sport' and is listed in the prestigious 2017 Football Blacklist.

In this talk, Michelle will share her own experiences of diversity and equality in sport and discuss the motivation for social change that has propelled her career, with the aim to inspire and enable continual development of an inclusive sporting environment at the University of Worcester.

The talk is presented as part of the University of Worcester's Autumn Open Lectures.

The talk will be followed by a reception to which you are also invited.
