The focus of the School Games in Cumbria is undergoing a significant shift.

We know that the Covid-19 pandemic has meant that many young people are less active than they were previously, and the Cumbria School Games will now seek to focus on these young people to encourage them to be more active, and reduce the inequalities in participation in physical activity that have grown during the pandemic. The Games will focus on providing a positive experience for young people, and to encourage a lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.

All of the events and activities within the Games will also now focus on achieving a clear intent for those young people taking part, as well as aligning with a new set out 5 key outcomes that guide the work of both Active Cumbria, and School Games Organisers moving forward.The event will be led by Active Cumbria, supported by the School Games Organisers, and will take the form of a presentation, followed by an opportunity for questions and answers.
