Event description

Description

How do we turn our schools into hotbeds of imaginative thinking?
How do we support the natural creative impulses of our teams?
How do we nurture the natural resilience and inventive power of our children?

Thurrock Trailblazer invites school leaders and education professionals to High House Production Park to envisage the future of cultural learning.

Keynote speaker, Katherine Zeserson, will explore the power of creative thinking in the challenging landscape of education today. Katherine has been working in the field of cultural learning nationally and internationally for 35 years as a practitioner, trainer, senior leader and advocate; she believes passionately in the power of reflective artistic practice to inspire human development and build compassionate communities.

Gabrielle Forster-Still, Head of Learning and Participation in Thurrock for the Royal Opera House, will present the three-year evolution of Thurrock Trailblazer and its ambition to achieve whole school systemic change, focusing on the leadership capacity of the Cultural Champions and the potential of the programme to promote stronger inter-school collaboration.

A cohort of senior leaders from varied education settings, will share their experience from the leadership training programme “Leaders in Cultural Learning,” where participants developed the skills needed to embed cultural learning strategies into school thinking, planning and action, across schools and Multi Academy Trusts.
