Description

A free workshop exploring and challenging the perceptions of disability by looking at the Social Model of Disability and Equality and Awareness by raising awareness of peoples rights, responsibilities, duties and entitlements and to remove physical, environmental and attitudinal barriers that disable people with the aim of promoting positive working relationships between parent carers, schools and local authority and health professionals.

Facilitated by Ian Evans from Thurrock Coalition which is a User Led organisation in Thurrock providing support, information and advice on the rights and entitlements of disabled and older people.

There are two sessions on the same day: 10am-1pm and 4pm-7pm. Refreshments are included and there is free parking on site.

Travel costs can be reclaimed on the day or afterwards, please provide receipts where possible, and reasonable childcare costs can also be reclaimed - please contact Sam Foster at capathurrock@gmail.com for further details.
