Description

Film Screening followed by Q&A with Panel Guests

#NotACrime

Changing the World, One Wall at a Time, a documentary feature film on Education Is Not A Crime – one of the world’s largest street art and human rights campaigns, raising awareness of education discrimination in Iran and aroud the world.

Today in Iran, members of the Baha’i faith are barred access to university education and cannot teach at Iranian universities by virtue of their religious affiliation. The global campaign, ‘Education is not a Crime’ is a response to raise awareness about this injustice through a largescale street art movement, providing a peaceful pathway to dialogue.

The film features interviews with popular artists – such as Rone from Australia, Astro from France, Marthalicia Matarrita from New York, and Elle from Los Angeles – as well as activists with experience of the Civil Rights movement, the anti-Apartheid struggle in South Africa, and human rights work on behalf of Iranians of all backgrounds. Iranian Baha’is with personal experience of being denied their right to higher education also share their stories.

The CIRE and KCS Research Centres at the School of Education, together with members of the Bristol Baha'i community, warmly invite you to join us for a screening of the documentary film 'Changing the World One Wall at at Time ' followed by a Q&A panel discussion to talk about human rights, global access to education and use of the arts to promote healthy dialogue around these issues.
